Luminox And Navy SEALs Partner For An Excellent Watch

Back in the early 1990's, the Swiss watchmaker Luminox teamed up with the US Navy to develop a watch for the Navy SEALs. The Luminox 3000 series is a direct descendent of this effort. Combining innovative technology and design has resulted in a precision dive watch much revered by not only the SEALs but professional and amateur divers alike.

In this collection, the Luminox 3001 stands out. Sporting a unidirectional  bezel with a clean, uncluttered dial, this watch is encased for durability in a lightweight, carbon reinforced polymer. Aside from being able to time your dive, the next most important feature is probably legibility under the water. Luminox shines in this area. They use tritium gas filled micro-tubes that are 100 times brighter than regular illumination, making readability no problem at all.

Another great example is the Luminox Blackout Watch with its tactical design. The black numerals and hour markers stand out against the charcoal grey background of the dial giving it a special ops-mission look. All the watches in this collection are water-resistant to 200 meters.
